Tripbyclip

Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 19, 2026

1. Introduction

Tripbyclip (“we”, “our”, or “the Service”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and with whom we share it when you use our map and travel video discovery service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Email address — collected when you sign in with a Google account (administrator login only). We do not require account creation for general use of the Service.
  • Map interaction logs — when you click on a location on the map, the associated place ID and approximate geographic coordinates are sent to our servers to fetch place information and related videos. These logs are used solely to deliver the service and improve caching performance.
  • Visit statistics — we use Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized usage data such as daily visitor counts and page views. This data does not identify individual users.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To display place details and related YouTube videos based on your map interactions.
  • To cache results and reduce redundant API calls, improving performance for all users.
  • To monitor service health and API usage through our internal dashboard (administrators only).
  • To remember your language preference between sessions.

4. Third-Party Services

To provide core functionality, your data is processed by the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that governs their use of your data:

ServicePurpose
Google Maps Platform
(Maps, Places, YouTube APIs)
Map rendering, place information lookup, and travel video search. Place IDs and search keywords are transmitted to Google’s servers.
Firebase
(Firestore, Auth, Analytics)
Data caching, administrator authentication, and anonymized visit analytics. Provided by Google.
OpenAIAI-powered matching of YouTube videos to place names and categories. Place names and video metadata are sent to OpenAI’s API for relevance scoring.

5. Advertising and Affiliate Links

The Service may display sponsored or affiliate advertisements within place information panels. These are clearly labeled as “Ad” or “Sponsored.” If you click an affiliate link, you will be taken to a third-party partner’s website, and we may receive a commission. The link may contain tracking parameters (for example, UTM tags) that let the partner attribute the visit to us; we do not transmit your name, email, or any directly identifying information through these links. Once you leave the Service, the destination website’s own privacy policy and cookies govern your activity there. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third-party site you visit.

6. Cookies

We use a single functional cookie to store your selected language preference (e.g., English, Korean, Thai). This cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to display content in your preferred language and does not track you across other websites. No advertising or analytics cookies are placed directly by Tripbyclip; any analytics cookies are set by Firebase under Google’s privacy framework, and any cookies resulting from affiliate links are set by the partner’s site only after you click through.

7. Data Retention

Cached place information is retained for 30 days; cached YouTube video data is retained for 90 days. Aggregated visit statistics are retained indefinitely for service monitoring purposes. Interaction logs used to generate cache entries are not stored separately beyond what is contained in the cached result.

8. Your Rights

As we do not collect personal data beyond what is described in Section 2, there is generally no personal data profile associated with your use of the Service. If you believe we hold personal data about you, or if you have any privacy-related questions, please contact us at the address listed on our Contact page.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect when the most recent changes were made. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
